South Korea Looks to Remove Over Half of Border Area Fencing

This seems an awful lot of fencing to be removed from the border areas:

South Korea’s defense ministry plans to gradually remove more than half of all coastal and riverside barbed wire fences across the country to help ease residents’ inconveniences, officials said Thursday.

The move, which is part of the Defense Reform 2.0 initiative aimed at creating a smaller yet stronger military, came amid Seoul’s push for inter-Korean cooperation and rapprochement.

The ministry plans to inspect all fences across the nation, which measure about 300 kilometers in total, to determine which can be eliminated in a way that does not hurt the country’s coastal defense.

“At this point in time, we think that some 57 percent of the fences can possibly be removed,” a ministry official said, declining to be named. “We will take action this year as to the sections that the military can eliminate on its own, while we plan to take care of other fences in stages.” ย [Korea Times]

You know what else is hard to maintain…..freedom. Of course commie moon has no intention of maintain fences or freedom.

I recently read about the low intensity war on the DMZ in the late 60s eerily 70s. That fencing was one of the best moves General Bonesteel made. It made easy infiltration much more difficult. The ROK military obviously never reads history in their leadership courses. Iโ€™m now calling for USFK to implement an evacuation plan, as the civilian leadership in the Blue House is no longer a friend of the US military. I wouldnโ€™t be surprised if Moon Pie has to make sure the correct flag is flying each morning, it wouldnโ€™t be good to fly the red star too early.

Here is the Leavenworth Papers study/analysis of that time frame; Scenes from an Unfinished War: Low-Intensity Conflict in Korea, 1966-1969 (Leavenworth Papers, Number 19)
http://www.dtic.mil/dtic/tr/fulltext/u2/a245460.pdf
(Notice written by MAJ Daniel Bolger. He went on to retired as a LTG.)
“The system centered around a chain-link fence, ten feet tall, topped by
triple strands of concertina wire and reinforced by interwoven saplings and
steel engineer pickets. A narrow, raked-sand path paralleled the fence on
the allied side to highlight footprints. Just past the sand strip lay a 120-
meter-wide kill zone cleared with plows, chain saws, axes, and chemical
defoliants. In that area, mines and tanglefoot wire fronted a line of
conventional defensive positions.”

Those were the good old days when Commies got what was coming to them. Now with Commie Moon, they’ll be welcomed as conquerors without even firing a shot.

And as Comrade Moon and his facilitators are being led away to the abattoir by North Korean soldiers, they might begin to realize their mistake… But probably not…

Recall that the French still don’t blame Islam for the terror attacks in Paris…

There are people who don’t believe evil exists. I’ve met many. They all seem to be Obama/Clinton supporters. Not sure if that’s a direct link (correlation is not causation); but something to check on when someone says they got your six…

“Austin and Geogehan, who quit their hectic office jobs in Washington, DC, were on the trip of their lives, enjoying โ€œmore peaceful pedaling through gorgeous landscapes, more sleeping in open fields under clear skies, more quiet sunsets, more friendly people, more adventure and, importantly, more time together too, living life on simpler, more meaningful terms,โ€ their blog reads.”

Well, so much for that. They could’ve done that without sampling from all the world’s worst shyteholes. Better even.

Shame, Liz.

There are no shithole place nor shithole people. Everyone is equal and the same… though sometimes simply misunderstood.

Give peace a chance.

If you resist this, I will do my best to get your Official Kumbaya Card cancelled.

CH, I’m sorry to disagree.

I’ve been to Portland, Seattle, St Louis, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco, New York, Newark, Atlanta, Philadephia, Providence, Boston, Hartford, and Detroit. All of them have neighborhoods and denizens who resembled the “restrooms” in the long since remodeled place in Itaewon with the pool tables across from “Fridays” (and I don’t mean TGIF).

I saw the same in England, Mexico, and Germany. Itaewon off the main street is turning that way. I know from conversations with friends that saw a dead cat on the floor of the main restaurant in a famous American hotel in Pune that the subcontinent might be well known for such ambiance, even in the areas where Western Businessmen congregate.

Having an ungrateful heart towards God, parents, employers, and/or others is a prime ingredient in becoming or creating a ****hole.

You can have my “Official Kumbaya Card” if you want. I can’t say 2+2=5, even if it makes some consider me “deplorable”…

I am afraid I must report you, Setnaffa.

To retain your Official Kumbaya Card, you will be forced to undergo a Liberal Ideological Purity Test… including its most recent addition…

…walking the streets of San Francisco without complaining about all the homeless junkies. Further, if you dare to suggest a solution to all the used needles and shitpiles, it must not blame the shooters or shitters and, instead, must focus on the evil of straight white conservative males… and, to insure no victim status of underrepresented persons, it must not be an actual solution but must use a great deal of tax dollars for more government workers to temporarily rearrange the symptoms while actually offering perverse incentives to insure the problem grows so more blame can be assigned and more tax money can be sought.

Bonus Thought:

“Having an ungrateful heart towards God, parents, employers, and/or others is a prime ingredient in becoming or creating a ****hole.”

You must be talking about that Protestant or Mormon god because the Catholic god specializes in creating shitholes.

CH, you may have something there. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

There is only one God and he commanded us to show love to others, something Protestants, Mormons, and Catholics fail to do at times. Some misinterpret this and (to pick two examples) give needles to junkies and communion to Nancy Pelosi in spite of her adamant support for things the Catholic Church claims are “mortal sins”. Others adopt a legalistic attitude like that of the Pharisees and try to force outward compliance, something Jesus never preached. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

The scariest thing to think about is how a Good God will react to people who are not good, who loved the things He made and gave them, and hated Him. If we get what we deserve, an eternity in hell is probably getting off easy. Trying to find a way to avoid that might be important. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

This would be where I would try to tell the Gospel; but all of you already know Jesus died on the cross to pay our sin debt, if we just believe. Plus, telling people God, and not the Government, deserves our worship might trigger our SJW fellow travelers, so I won’t mention it. Or Biblegateway dot com where one can find read the Bible online in many languages. That might trigger them too. ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜› ๐Ÿ˜›

I’ll get right on that “Liberal Ideological Purity Test”, right after pigs fly. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Setnaffa,

I recently experienced the Liberal Ideological Purity Test during a week in Seattle.

I failed.

Luberalism is a mental illness that shows tolerance for things that no decent society should tolerate.

Bonus thought: The opiate junkies of the west coast are rather pathetic and harmless… better than the methheads of the flyover states.
