Three Teenagers of USFK Servicemembers Caught on Camera Beating Koreans In Seoul

The obvious question with this incident is where were their parents at?  What an embarrassment:

Three teenage children of U.S. forces in South Korea have been arrested for assaulting Koreans, including a 50-something taxi driver, while drunk, police said Sunday.

One victim was reportedly assaulted because he did not know the location of a nearby nightclub, according to Mapo Police Station.

The alleged incident happened at 2 a.m. of May 23 near Sogang University in Mapo, northwestern Seoul.

According to police, the teenagers picked a fight with two adult Koreans after they bumped shoulders accidently. The teenagers were then involved in a fight with a Korean man near Hongik University at around 3 a.m. after he failed to answer their question about the nightclub. A taxi driver who tried to intervene was also assaulted.  [Korea Times]

You can read more at the link, but their parents should be held accountable as well for allowing their kids to be wandering around Seoul at 2AM in the morning.

Those teens need to be punished. And their parents will be. And the Norks will play this like tbe accidental deaths of those two middle-school girls.

USFK needs to see the punishment is done, or this will look like the Burger King murder…

The parents should face charges. Correct me if I am wrong but isn’t there a USFK curfew for teenagers?

Surprisingly no. So if the parents are military they couldn’t go out and look for their kid….ah USFK.

So… what charges should the parents face? I’m curious to know what kind of society you’re building so that I can be thankful I don’t live in it. 😛

One good thing about the military is that you don’t have to face formal charges for your career to be ruined and your life turned to poop. Whoever these kids’ parents are just ended up on CG or CSM’s shitlist.

I do know one thing, Smokes. Walton Walker is rolling in his grave. He would have never let this happen on his watch. I read about it in a book one time.

Do tell, I don’t know much about him. As for these goons, throw the book at them.

Smokes, – Perhaps I misspoke when I used the word charges but how about their responsibility as parents. They are responsible for their children’s actions just as a senior is responsible for those under his/her command. This is just another way for the Koreans to point fingers at the U.S.

Tagum/Smokes,

While the parents are “responsible”, note that most tools of responsibility have been taken away.

– The parents have a curfew which the teens do not.

– Any type of physical punishment, no matter how unharmful, would be a life-ending criminal act.

– Any report from a parent to USFK law enforcement would go nowhere.

Further, the situation is structured to discourage safety and responsibility (under the guise of safety and responsibility).

– USFK’s strict enforcement of drinking age and zero tolerance policies send underage drinkers and troublemakers away from protected areas.

In reality, they are likely long-term crappy parents… so this attitude/behavior didn’t just start at this incident.

Question: All three were USFK dependents… but two were visiting?

“Walton Walker is rolling in his grave.”

Funny you mention that old boy. I stopped by his statue on Monday – and by now I’d guess he’s rolling down MSR 1.

I was just rehashing our prior conversation on the good general and poking fun at myself a bit.

Thought you might get a kick out of it..
