So you fast food workers want a fifteen dollar minimum wage?
Sure… we will get right on that.
@Chickenhead, that is the first thing I thought when I saw this as well. Welcome to your new $15 an hour fast food workers. The only problem is that the $15 an hour is going to go to the guy maintaining the self ordering system.
Smartphones drove a sensor and processing revolution… and physical robotics components are now crazy-cheap.
Burger-making assembly lines are a reality, soon to be in public use… gormet coffee drinks are already being made perfectly by machines instead of stinkin’ hippies… robots that cook hundreds of dishes consistantly and mix all textbook coctails are a novelty on the edge of mass commercialization…
…and any 15 dollar per hour wage will simply have the bean counters pushing to speed up the whole process.
We are coming into a new world where many things will be high-quality, commoditized, and very cheap…
…though it is not clear how much of the population will have jobs… especially the uneducated and unskilled ones.
